Jacquey Dougherty has been a C.P.A. in Pennsylvania since 1978 and in New Jersey since 2009. She is a Licensed Insurance Producer in Pennsylvania and New Jersey since 1999. She is also a Certified Senior Advisor since 2004.

In August 1999, Jacquey Dougherty opened the doors of Dougherty Financial Consultants, Inc. She began with an insurance agency of primarily homeowners’ business and has expanded it to be an agency which can meet the needs of individual and small business clients with insurance not only for homeowners, but all personal lines and small business commercial property and casualty, health insurance, life and disability insurance and long-term care insurance. She has focused the expansion of her business on meeting the needs of customers rather than around the expansion of products and services.

Our companion firm, The Dougherty Law Offices (www.doughertylawoffices.com) provides business advice and legal services to start-up and small to medium sized business and individuals with legal needs.

Prior to opening Dougherty Financial, Jacquey was the Executive Director for Strategic Planning for Bell Atlantic Corporation (now Verizon). In that position, Jacquey was a major influence in the direction of the corporation’s senior officers’ Annual Planning Meetings from 1994 through 1998. She was instrumental in the creation of a small business strategy for the corporation with highly successful results. Jacquey was involved in many of the acquisitions made by Bell Atlantic in the years 1987 through 1998 including New Zealand Telecom and NYNEX. She started her career with Bell Atlantic as a Tax Specialist where she created an interactive financial model to assess the impacts of various tax legislation proposals under the Reagan administration to the Bell Atlantic business. She then adapted that model to assess the impact of acquisitions, dispositions and other business development proposals.

More than 30 Years of Accounting Experience

Jacquey began her career with Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte & Touche) in Philadelphia as a staff accountant in the audit department. She quickly moved to the tax department of the firm and achieved major tax savings with research and development credits for a medium-sized publicly traded manufacturing client and with rehabilitation credits for a privately-held corporate client.
